OCEAN CITY, MD — The Ocean City Development Corporation (OCDC) has announced the launch of its new Workforce Housing Rehabilitation Program, replacing the previous Employee Housing Development Program.

The new program focuses on renovating and improving existing workforce housing rather than building new projects, with the goal of preserving and enhancing the quality of housing available for Ocean City’s employees. Property owners within the downtown district—from the Inlet to 17th Street—are eligible to apply for grants up to $10,000 to assist with renovations and conversions that support workforce housing.

Eligible improvements include major system upgrades, structural and weatherization work, kitchen and bathroom renovations, and conversions that create or expand workforce housing units. The program provides funding on a reimbursable basis and is available for projects completed within 12 months of OCDC approval.

The Workforce Housing Rehabilitation Program comes at an ideal time, as many property owners plan off-season renovations and improvements. By reinvesting in existing housing, the program aims to maintain safe, affordable, and high-quality living spaces for the people who live and work in Ocean City.
